August 19th 2022. Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. WWE SmackDown 1200th Episode. The WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Tournament rolled on with Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne of Toxic Attraction from NXT defeating Natalya and Sonya Deville. Dakota Kai, IYO SKY and Bayley acquired tickets to do some scouting. When... okay to be (ugh) fair... if Dakota and IYO can defeat Alexa Bliss and Asuka in the semifinal match on the August 22nd episode of Monday Night RAW, they will meet the winners of the Gigi and Jacy versus Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah semi in the finals of the tournament.

This trio... Control... Damage Control... Damage CTRL... the name hasn't been confirmed on television as of writing this entry so I'm covering all bases. Damage Control has been written on their social media, so for now I'll run with that. They might not have favorites in this match per say, however Bayley expressed some issues with Natalya and Sonya this past week that might make them the greater of two evils in her eyes. Bayley feels Natalya has held the division back from progressing and blames Sonya for not doing enough for it during her time as a WWE official.

The mere presence of Damage Control may have been a mental distraction for both teams even if there was no physical contact. Damage Control clearly enjoyed watching perspective future opponents beat each other up and were seemingly pleased with Toxic's win. Dakota and IYO are no strangers to Gigi, Jacy and their leader Mandy Rose. If Kai and SKY make it to the finals along with Gigi and Jacy, it would be a chance for them to finally get some revenge against their ole NXT rivals.

Grudges aside, the bigger story is a victory over Toxic would further cement Damage Control as WWE's most dominant faction. Could we be on the verge of a faction war? Such a future is obviously not set in stone. Gigi and Jacy could very well lose to Raquel and Aliyah. In that case, if Dakota and IYO advanced to the finals on the RAW side of the bracket, they would instead face another ole NXT rival in Raquel. Ironically enough, when Dakota and Raquel last crossed paths they had made amends and briefly won the NXT Women's Tag Titles from Gigi and Jacy.

If Dakota and IYO make it to the finals, old hostilities from NXT would reignite no matter the opponents. There are footnotes in NXT history -- including from tournaments -- involving Dakota, IYO, Raquel, Aliyah and Toxic Attraction. Aliyah and Raquel were actually on opposing teams who faced off during the first Women's Dusty Cup Tournament. Speaking of history... I know it's quite a longshot... but who else would be down for WarGames... Damage Control versus Toxic Attraction versus Team EST at Survivor Series? Just call it the take my fucking money match.

Damage Control graciously gave some more of their time to appear on WWE Network post show The SmackDown LowDown. Petition to just name the post shows The Control Center already?

It was simple and to the point. Bayley had to return to her show SmackDown. One could argue it needed her. Damage Control needed to do some scouting and Dakota didn't mean to brag, however she was still feeling pretty good about the chances that IYO and her have the tournament win in the bag. Bayley and IYO agree that SKY and Kai will be the next WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. Why? Because Damage Control Rocks. Damage Control Rocks. Damage Control Rocks. Damage Control Rocks.
