November 4, 2023. Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Mohammed Abdo Arena. WWE Crown Jewel 2023. Bianca Belair arrived thinking she had the WWE Women's Championship won and IYO SKY with no allies in play. Her plan was blown out of the water not once or twice but thrice. The first fell of The EST came when Bayley whom Belair thought she had taken out on SmackDown appeared at ringside during the match to cheer IYO on. The second was that regardless of Bayley's presence, IYO took everything Bianca gave her, giving it right back ten fold.
The third and last was the assist of IYO's ole matey Kairi Sane. The Pirate Princess returned to the ranks of WWE actually saving Bayley from getting planted with a KOD. You may recall, it was Bayley who laid waste to Kairi back in 2020, driving her out of WWE. But I don't think Kairi did this to help Bayley. Belair got laid out by Kairi as the referee was checking on SKY. The EST barely broke the referee's ten count, only for SKY to crash down on her with Over the Moonsault. 1-2-3. And Still Your WWE Women's Champion IYO SKY.
SKY and Sane gave Belair a post-match beating concluded with an InSane Elbow from Kairi. Bayley was slumped against the commentary table, shaken by the sight of IYO and Kairi all smiles hugging and raising each other's hands. I'll make a logical assumption Bayley wasn't in on this. I must add that SKY shouted unfavorably at Bayley when she came out during the match. A bit later, IYO gave Bayley a cold stare after an accidental collision. IYO holding ill feelings toward Bayley is understandable, especially given that Bayley threatened under the disguise of a joke to go after SKY and the title.
The biggest question at the moment: Was Our Captain aware of any this? You might recall, the love and respect IYO and Dakota have for Kairi brought the three together as a trio for a time back in NXT 2018. That bond Kai and SKY shared because of Kairi was restored and strengthened thanks to Bayley forming Damage CTRL. Bayley has had her questionable moments, leaving many to question if she's just been using Kai and SKY. Yet, in the last month it's felt all the tension and tribulations they faced actually bonded The Ladies stronger together. Though it would be remiss of me to not remind you again that on the SmackDown before Crown Jewel, Bayley threatened to replace Bianca and take the title from IYO. Such could diminish any reestablished goodwill Bayley has with Dakota & IYO.
This Chronicler will end this series of entries to remind you that this is The Story of Dakota Kai. Our Captain has been supportive of IYO even at those times Bayley was suspect. I can only hope IYO remembers that Dakota has been her true friend.
