December 8, 2023. Providence, Rhode Island. Amica Mutual Pavilion. SmackDown. Bayley tried to manipulate WWE Women's Champion IYO SKY by "apologizing" for disobeying IYO the previous week. She "promised" she wouldn't be at ringside for Asuka's match against Charlotte as a way to try and manipulate Dakota Kai, Kairi Sane and IYO to do the same. Typical selfish Bayley only thinking of herself instead of how Dakota, Kairi and IYO are competent (unlike her) and can actually benefit Asuka with their moral support.
IYO SKY related a group response to Dakota Kai to relate to Bayley because the so-called role model is disrespectful and continually refuses to learn Japanese. Damage CTRL have no intention of hanging backstage because Charlotte has been know to cheat to win matches. Bayley was grumpy as Damage CTRL left because her manipulations aren't working like they used to.
Damage CTRL wisely foresaw Charlotte would cheat and Charlotte did. Before the match even started. Bianca Belair, Michin, Zelina Vega and Charlotte's pet Shotzi outnumbered Kairi and IYO, forcing Dakota and them from ringside. That's cheating because Damage CTRL have a faction license therefore are allowed to be present whereas Charlotte's stooges don't so lack that privilege. Of course, the Flair family referee was the official so he showed favoritism toward Charlotte. If Dakota Kai wasn't still recovering, she'd of kicked all those stooges' heads off.
Someone broke her "promise". Bayley strut down to ringside where she wasn't needed. Now to be fair, her initial interference actually benefitted Asuka. From there, The Empress of Damage had it in the bag. So of course, Bayley got on the apron to hog the spotlight, nearly colliding with Asuka. It was only the ring savvy of The Living Legend Asuka that prevented her from crashing into Bayley. Charlotte knocked Bayley off the apron. Asuka used that moment to roll Charlotte up for the pinfall victory, securing a pivotal win for Damage CTRL.
Bayley stood there, bragging that she won the match for Asuka even though it was her interference that nearly cost Asuka the match. Only the veteran in-ring experience of Asuka brought Damage CTRL this victory. Bayley per usual hogged all the credit, making this all about herself. It wasn't her night for it was the night of The Empress of Damage, The Living Legend Asuka.
In a WWE Digital Exclusive, Asuka celebrated with her Damage CTRL sisters. Dakota rightfully pointed out it was all Asuka because it was. Bayley intruded because she couldn't let Asuka have her moment with her sisters. She tried to condone her disobedience, saying she just wants what's best for Damage CTRL. Bayley is too selfish to consider what best for Damage CTRL actually is. Anyway, Asuka said some words in Japanese with a laugh. Bayley was humored with a "Thank you." and "Charlotte was not ready for Bayley!" from The Living Legend.
There was a sort of group hug between all five. Dakota further humored Bayley with a "You did that." and pat on the head. Bayley shouted out they are a team as if she even understands what a team is. They are a team though: Dakota Kai, Kairi Sane, Asuka and WWE Women's Champion IYO SKY. The Ladies were gracious enough to humor Bayley even after she nearly cost Asuka a win. Bayley should repay them by learning obedience. Ten out of ten educators would recommended that Bayley stand nose to wall and recite "I will be obedient." until it registers.
