October 14th 2022. Smoothie King Center. New Orleans, Louisiana. SmackDown. The Ladies came to The Big Easy to make a statement. Roxanne Perez from NXT came looking for a Pick Your Poison opponent to face Cora Jade on the October 18th 2022 episode of NXT. She got more than she ever dreamed of being granted the honor of stepping into the ring against Damage CTRL. It all started with Roxanne picking Raquel Rodriguez to face their mutual former friend Cora. Bayley along with Dakota Kai and IYO SKY took offense to Perez's questionable choice.

Roxanne claimed she originally planned to choose Bayley as Cora's opponent, however decided against it after Bayley had two loses in a row this past week. Roxanne must not be aware that Raquel has a serious concentration problem when it comes to focusing on her actual opponents. Bad choice. Last month on The Bump, Damage CTRL gave props and respect to Roxanne. This is how she shows her appreciation? Youngsters these days! Bayley, Dakota and IYO wouldn't be disrespected and challenged Roxanne, Shotzi and Raquel to a six woman tag team match.

Bayley once again proved to be selfless granting Roxanne the honor of stepping into the ring against three of the best in the world despite her disrespecting them. I suspect that to Roxanne, the term "Best in the World" has been associated with her role model AJ Lee whose other half calls himself that. But after this night, she will know only Damage CTRL as The Best in the World.

Roxanne and her new friends decided to model themselves after the united front that is Damage CTRL and come out together on Shotzi's tank instead of doing ego-driven separate entrances. Perez started the match for her team against Our Captain. Roxanne controlled the start with armdrags and a headscissors into a roll-up for a one count. Dakota needed a chance to regroup so tagged out to her WWE Women's Tag Team Championship partner IYO SKY.

IYO used her world-traveled experience to outwit Perez. After Bayley tagged in, Roxanne would knock her to the floor and connect with a tope through the ropes and once back in the ring a Russian leg sweep. IYO would observe the five second rule and give Bayley an assist from the apron to take over for her team. Kai got tagged in and laid out Roxanne with a pump kick. But Perez would slip under Kai during a waistlock and tag in Shotzi. Kai felt some offense from her old NXT rival until she knocked her to Orlando and back with a PK from the apron.

SKY was tagged in and roughly drove Shotzi back into the ring before making a quick tag back to Kai who would strike Shotzi into the turnbuckles with a pump kick. Dakota tossed Shotzi to the apron and charged at her intending a shoulder tackle only to get caught and spiked to the apron with a DDT. Bayley and Raquel were tagged in and went at it with Dakota putting herself in harm's way to protect Bayley from a Stinger Splash. Raquel tagged out to Roxanne. Dakota and IYO tried to pull Raquel to the floor only for her to overpower them.

Raquel slipped to the floor. Dakota charged at her and was tossed over Raquel's head thankfully catching herself on the apron to avoid a crash to the floor. SKY delivered a Shotei to Raquel setting her up for an apron PK from Kai. Unfortunately, Raquel caught Dakota in powerbomb position. IYO would save the day, delivering a beautiful Asai springboard moonsault into the fray to assist Kai in crashing Raquel to the floor. Shotzi removed Kai and SKY from play with a crossbody from the top rope. Bayley proceeded to remove Shotzi with a charging forearm.

Bayley and Roxanne were the last two standing. Roxanne went move for move with Bayley but in the end, The Role Model would reverse her reverse into a reverse of her own to score a statement victory for Damage CTRL. Roxanne fought well and has nothing to be ashamed of. Hopefully, she's grateful to Damage CTRL for giving her that opportunity on primetime network television. It won't be long until the blue brand is paid another visit by Damage CTRL because next week Dakota and IYO will defend the women's tag team titles against Shotzi and Raquel.
