January 16th 2023. Cincinnati, Ohio. Heritage Bank Center. Monday Night RAW. Becky Lynch called out Bayley because The Role Model's hard truths spoken about The Man last week hit a few nerves. Damage CTRL came to the ring to humor Lynch. Bayley and Becky exchanged plenty of words about the past that I won't recap in-depth because they don't pertain to Our Captain's tale. In short: Becky accused Bayley of never breaking out and complaining about it. Bayley pointed out Becky's rise to stardom included a certain punch that drew blood.

In truth, they both had rocky roads to become legitimate trailblazers. Both are now stationed at the top of the wrestling world. It's important to point out too that Bayley brought Our Captain back and gave her a legimate opportunity. So, Becky threatened to punch Bayley in the face. Dakota Kai and IYO SKY stepped forward to defend their friend. Becky accused Bayley of always hiding behind them. Bayley insisted she doesn't need their help leading Becky to goad The Role Model into accepting her steel cage match challenge for next week's RAW 30th Anniversary. Of course, as you all know so well... the steel cage always keeps people out. I laughed.

Becky is the dope she accused Bayley of being. Bayley doesn't need help to beat Becky. Truth. But Lynch is literally asking for some interference because we all know steel cages never keep people out. If Dakota and IYO decided to interfere, Becky would only have herself to blame. She must like falling on that sword because she is planting it in the ground here. That said, Bayley can take care of this one on her own. That doesn't change that Becky just asked for potential interference by not choosing a different stipulation. Becky isn't The Man, she's The Dope.

The Ladies weren't done for the night. Dakota Kai was in the corner of her WWE Women's Tag Team Championship partner IYO SKY when The Genius of the Sky faced Michin. Bayley didn't come to ringside with them, choosing to give SKY and Kai the spotlight they deserve. Becky had accused Bayley of being selfish yet The Role Model continued to prove she isn't. Michin decided to bring her own ally in Candice LeRae who still holds that grudge against The Ladies.

Michin and IYO fought tooth and nail. Just as Michin was about to plant SKY with Eat Defeat, Dakota's emotions overcame her and she stood up on the apron to shout moral support to her friend. Michin stupidly took her eyes off the prize. Candice pulled Kai face first to the apron to distract IYO who took her eyes off the prize, concerned because her friend was ACTUALLY attacked by that rotten Pixie. Michin snuck a pinfall victory over SKY with Eat Defeat. Dakota hit the ring to give Michin a trashing. Candice saved Michin with a kick and codebreaker to Kai.

This wasn't the best night for Damage CTRL. Yet, it's nights like January 16th 2023 that merely make them stronger. Becky Lynch's sew dissension effort two weeks ago failed. The steel cage won't make a difference as Bayley will defeat Becky again. Kai and SKY might have found new challengers in Michin and Candice. It'll be a banger, however... And STILL you're WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Dakota Kai and IYO SKY. The Royal Rumble is coming up and The Ladies could take it. The Year 2023 is going to be The Year of Damage CTRL.
