Damage CTRL Events of July 21st 2023

June 7, 2020. That was the last time IYO SKY and Charlotte fought in Orlando, Florida. It was a triple threat match against Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women's Championship. Charlotte was the champion but it was Ripley whom SKY pinned to win the championship. Something to keep in mind in the event SKY were to cash in against The Eradicator. It was fitting on a night where a lot of current NXT wrestlers were present at Amway Center in Orlando that SKY and Charlotte would revisit their unfinished rivalry from the black and gold brand.

Bayley did her best to save commentary from that IDIOT Michael Cole. The Magnificence told it like it is as SKY brought the fight to The Entitled Brat. Yes, I think that will be my nickname for Charlotte for as long as she opposes The Ladies. The war between SKY and Charlotte would be intruded upon by that psychopath Shotzi appearing on the big screen in a creepy homemade movie that distressed Bayley to leave ringside. I'm not sure if going backstage in event that lunatic was lurking there was a good idea, however thankfully Bayley was not harmed.

SKY was confused by Bayley's departure, having been down and out. But IYO didn't let that take her focus off the match, battling on. Every time it seemed Charlotte had SKY down, IYO would fire back until she fell to Natural Selection. Charlotte got the win but it was SKY who was the spotlight. I refuse to say SKY proved she could hang with Charlotte because anyone whose followed IYO's work knows she's on the same level. So it will be put like this: On the July 21, 2023 episode of SmackDown, IYO SKY proved to be every bit as good as Charlotte.

The mental torment Shotzi inflicted upon Bayley would ruin any celebration The Ladies could have after SKY's performance. Bayley wanted to get the fuck out of there, promising SKY she would explain everything later. The torment hit Bayley harder as she turned her luggage around to reveal a photo of her stabbed to it with scissors. I don't think Shotzi was suggesting she wanted to apply a bodyscissors to Bayley. SKY grabbed her things and hurried off with Bayley who in her panic got a bit shouty, confusing and frustrating IYO.

On The SmackDown LowDown, Kayla Braxton could see that Bayley and IYO were in a hurry to leave yet stopped them to accuse Bayley of walking out on IYO. Bayley was frantically staring in all directions, after all Shotzi implied she was going to stab her. She didn't want to talk about Shotzi, instead stated that despite what happened earlier, IYO SKY is the future Women's Champion. Bayley a bit aggressively pushed IYO to take their leave. IYO remained understandably confused and frustrated, still in the dark about why her friend was on the edge.

The tension within Damage CTRL has felt at rest since Money in the Bank, however I fear the wrath of Shotzi could forcefully reopen that door.
