October 6, 2023. St. Louis, Missouri. Enterprise Center. SmackDown. Bayley's ego got her Damage CTRL sister IYO SKY in a triple threat match defense of the WWE Women's Championship against Charlotte and Asuka at WWE Fastlane. The evening before said match, IYO and Bayley would team up against the proverbial "Can They Get Along" tandem of Asuka and Charlotte. The Empress and The Entitled Brat are former WWE Women's Tag Team Champions but more widely recognized together for their longstanding rivalry.

IYO made it crystal clear to Bayley on last weekend's episode of The SmackDown LowDown that she can speak for herself. Have tensions between SKY and Bayley cooled down? The recovering Dakota Kai was present at ringside, both to cheer on her sisters and serve as The Guardian of the WWE Women's Championship. In the early going, a mishap occurred between SKY and Bayley when IYO wanted a tag but Bayley took her eyes off the action to heckle ringside fans. If you look closely, Dakota was trying to get Bayley's attention to notice the tag. Bayley redeemed herself moments later, taking a dastardly blow intended for SKY.

Bayley got the referee's attention to order Charlotte (acting illegally) down from the apron while Dakota kept Asuka in place on the opposite side of the apron so IYO could smash her in the face with that dope sliding one-legged dropkick. That isn't cheating by the way, it's Damage CTRL putting The Freebird Rule to good use. Within the legal five seconds I might add. SKY and Bayley went on to display more teamwork, even surviving an onslaught by their opponents. Additional teamwork within the five second rule had Dakota distract the referee so IYO could tower of doom powerbomb Charlotte and Asuka with Bayley taking a sacrificial fall.

So, things were actually looking up for IYO and Bayley until Bayley mucked it up. IYO was on the apron recovering. Bayley had the perfect opportunity to finish Charlotte off. Yet again, The Role Model decided to show off over the sensible approach. Charlotte kicked Bayley into IYO who fell to the floor in a heap. Natural Selection to Bayley. 1-2-3. Asuka and The Entitled Brat win. Dakota comforted SKY as the two looked on perplexed regarding their leader.

Some say whoever goes into a Premium Live Event match without momentum stands a better chance at victory. A triple threat match has no disqualification so IYO won't be alone. Of course, there are some factors to consider. Damage CTRL have enemies including a lunatic with sheers who could intervene against them. There too is Bayley's bad habit of showing off which could be a hindrance to IYO. Whether IYO has help or goes at Asuka and Charlotte on her own, let us hope luck is with The Ladies on Saturday Night October 7, 2023 at WWE Fastlane.
