August 5, 2023. Ford Field. Detroit Michigan. SummerSlam 2023. Year 2 of The Ladies began with And New WWE Women's Champion IYO SKY. That pain in the side of Damage CTRL this past year Bianca Belair won the triple threat match for the WWE Women's Championship held by Asuka. IYO and Bayley charged to the ring like the warriors they are. Bayley smashed both Charlotte and Asuka with the Money in the Bank briefcase. She tried to whack Belair who blocked it. SKY grabbed the briefcase and smashed Belair with it. Briefcase to the referee. Match made official. Over the Moonsault. 1-2-3. New Champion.

An overjoyed Bayley caught the even more overjoyed SKY in an embrace. But she was not the only one there to congratulate the new champion. Our Captain, King Kota herself Dakota Kai was present for this landmark moment. Like a true Role Model, Bayley held the ropes open for Kai as she entered the ring. Dakota and IYO fell into a tearful embrace. Bayley joined in for a three way hug. They squeezed some more before Dakota and Bayley took their leave to give IYO the stage to celebrate in front of the crowd who continued to give her a well-deserved ovation.

All three of The Ladies were present at the SummerSlam Press Conference. IYO was over the moon(sault) about her big night. Dakota and Bayley were happy for her. A reporter asked Dakota if she was back full-time from the injury she suffered in May. Kai responded she's coming along though still rehabilitating, however she had to be present for IYO's and Damage CTRL's big moment. It might be a bit before we see Our Captain again, however when she is back full-time it looks like it will be to assist her united Damage CTRL mates in controlling the Women's Division.

April 10, 2023. That was the night IYO SKY and Dakota Kai made it clear they wanted promised opportunities. Bayley's selfishness was clear. IYO earned a championship match at Backlash. Dakota was supportive of IYO all the way up to discreetly giving her an assist that would have given SKY the victory if not for Bayley's unnecessary interference. Days later, Bayley and Dakota might have won the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles if not for Bayley feeling a need to show off her "leadership". Dakota got injured. Tension brewed between IYO and Bayley.

Despite the tension, IYO and Bayley vowed one would win the Money in the Bank briefcase for Damage CTRL. That is exactly what happened courtesy of IYO SKY. Some wondered if Bayley would turn the knife. She hasn't, rather she's been working side-by-side with IYO. Hatemongers like that IDIOT Michael Cole have tried to cast doubt, proven WRONG at SummerSlam. There was no tension or bitterness. Just genuine happiness and love from Bayley toward IYO with a couple helpful smashes along the way.

Some weeks ago I questioned if Bayley could do the right thing for IYO SKY which in turn would be the right thing for all of Damage CTRL. On the evening of August 5, 2023 we saw Bayley do the right thing: Be selfless. IYO SKY is And New WWE Women's Champion. Our Captain was there to celebrate. The Ladies stood together. All was truly right in the world.
