August 30, 2025. Four Winds Field. South Bend, Indiana. RCW Swinging for the Fences. Nixon Newell went out to the ole ballpark to challenge Shawna Reed, the Women’s Champion of Revolution Championship Wrestling. Reed has honing her craft for years, even appearing regularly on AEW Dark in 2021 and 2022. She’s faced many top names in the game, and isn’t opposed to utilizing underhanded tactics.

This event took place on a baseball diamond, giving this event a unique, cool-looking presence. Speaking of South Bend, in the early 1990’s I went there during a trip. There was a zoo, which was literally a block if even that of exhibits. Two big bears were fighting in their cage. Those big bastards were ducking it out. Technically, my first pro wrestling event. Sort of. I guess.

Nixon came into this match having just declared interest in MPX’s Women’s Title, and with a Belle to Bell Diamond Championship match already set for September 20, 2025. Some would say she’s playing with house money and really has nothing to lose. Others would say she’s playing a game of gain or risk momentum pending the outcome.

The bell rang. Newell and Reed took to the canvas for some mat mastery before things took a more brutal turn on the outside. Nixon smacked Shawna with a brutal chop to the chest. Reed tried her own, but Nixon played possum, ducking so Reed’s own hand struck the ring post. Newell tricked Reed again, teasing reentering the ring as Shawna went for an elbow drop, but slipped away so the champion crashed to the canvas.

Once Nixon reentered the ring, Shawna gouged Nixon’s eyes then tossed her with a German suplex. Reed continued the onslaught, delivering suplexes then head scissor smashing Nixon’s skull into the canvas consecutive times. Nixon mounted a comeback, catching Shawna’s arms and smashing her silly with a Welsh headbutt. Classic Nixon offense like the uppercut & Nixongiri in the corner followed by Cannonboar took their toll on Shawna. But Reed stayed in the fight, delivering a Death Valley Driver. 1-2-Kickout. Shawna was livid.

Shawna tried for a second DVD, only for Nixon to smash her with another headbutt. Gourdbuster. Charging PK from Hell. A play on words there. But it was a brutal PK. 1-2-Kickout from Shawna. Newell was frustrated. Shawna was desperate. Reed dropped Nixon to the turnbuckle then stacked her up for a pin, putting her own feet on the ropes for leverage. Nixon still kicked out.

Reed decided she had enough, smashing Nixon across the face with the RCW Women’s Title to force a disqualification. Nixon won the match but as often is the case in pro wrestling. titles only change on pinfall or submission so Reed’s underhanded tactic kept her the championship.

Additional Information | Nixon Newell defeated RCW Women’s Champion Shawna Reed (10:43) by disqualification. The DQ won Nixon the match but not the title. The match took place at RCW Swinging for the Fences on August 30, 2025 at Four Winds Field in South Bend, Indiana.
