Miscommunication

January 29, 2024. Tampa, Florida. Amalie Arena. Monday Night RAW. Tegan Nox & Natalya felt disrespected by SmackDown's Damage CTRL causing chaos on the January 22, 2023 Monday Night RAW. Since that night, Asuka and Kairi Sane of Damage CTRL won the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles which allows them to appear on all three brands. Tegan outsmarting Natalya during the Women's Royal Rumble appears to have strengthend their bond. Nox's displayed cunning according to Natalya is the start of a beautiful friendship.

Tegan and Natalya had a chance to possibly earn a shot at the tag team titles as they faced Asuka and Kairi in a non-title match. The last time Nox faced Asuka and Kairi in a tag team match was back in October 2019 when Dakota Kai was her partner. These days, Dakota is allied with Asuka and Kairi in Damage CTRL but wasn't present at ringside for this match. In the early going, Tegan took it to Asuka in the corner with a gamengiri and Cannonboar. Nox and Natalya showed some swell teamwork, hitting stereo running kicks to Kairi.

The tide turned with Tegan taking a brunt of offense. Fortunately, Tegan was able to build some momentum with a charging uppercut and tag Natalya into the match. Natalya was a house of fire against Asuka. Kairi broke up a sharpshooter attempt only to get tossed to the floor. Natalya wanted a tag but Tegan was primed to smack Kairi with a running PK from the apron. Kairi caught Tegan's leg, dropping her face first. That unfortunate miscommunication led to Asuka and Kairi winning. Nox slumped on the floor, looking as if she felt she had let the team down.
